Pictures from the 4th of July Party....Part I

We had a great time at Steve and Sheri's 4th of July party (on the 3rd). Their remodeled house is just incredible. What a great place for entertaining. And they do it well. I will be showing you some pictures in two entries. I think since there are so many photos that maybe I should just put a few up across two entries instead of one. I'll put the rest up tomorrow! We'll start with these.

This picture above is what Steve and Sheri get to view as their back yard. I knew to bring my camera. And I got a great sunset shot - several shots actually. I was very pleased. It was a beautiful evening.

Here is a shot TheTeen got of Hubby and I. He knew she was going to take the picture and he was trying to move my hand down further. lol I should have pushed him in the lake. lol. But he'd have brought me in with him.
Here is Flipper Friend, TheTeen, and Hubby G.

Someone came to the party on their boat.
This is only a "section" of Steve and Sheri's house. The right hand side here is actually their "garage" - ha! The garage also has a kitchen sunroom lake view area. And attaching the garage to the house is an outdoor kitchen - like you see in Southern Living. They need to be in Southern Living. They did a great job designing and decorating this place.
Hubby G and his girl.
She doesn't see the fingers behind her head. I can hardly see them. lol. He is always the prankster.
TheTeen, Hubby and Flipper Friend below. I think that TheTeen and Flipper Friend are inseparable these days.
Granny and Granda. The picture did not focus very well.
We had the most gorgeous sunset. The best sunsets are when there are just a few clouds for the light to filter through and bounce off of. I loved this shot of the pool lights and the sunset.

I guess I am showing you the last half of our day first. lol. Oh well. Hubby helped with the fireworks. He enjoyed it so much. His parents stayed the entire night and enjoyed it too! We were happy they could go.
This is Jack, George's assistant at work. Together the two are very devious. Can you tell? Can you imagine working with these fellas? lol Jack is in the band that we go see all the time. They band is AWESOME with a capital A. Love to hear them.
Well, I post more tomorrow and we'll go backwards in time. lol.

Today was great. Since we were out til midnight last night we slept in til about 8. Got my 8 hours in. My back hurts when I sleep longer for some reason and my body gets stiff. After 8, I'm ready to go....well....after coffee. ha.

Ok so today was laundry day, picking up where TheTeen left off. I think we have been tag teaming on the laundry. She has been busy and I've let her go. But when I need some help, I will be calling her in for duty. She already helped me today by going out and finding some 50th birthday party decor for the 50th birthday parties we'll be having. That was nice. I also planned the menu on party number 1 today.

I cleaned the kitchen and spiffied it up so that it got the weekly clorox clean up to get those germs out of the way from our cooking adventures this week. I spent SEVERAL hours outside in my sleeveless shirt and my shorts and a great big floppy straw hat. Hubby G made fun of me. But I can stay out there longer with the hat on. The sun just drains me period. And this helps. I basically weeded all around the house and in all the flower beds except for the cherub garden. I ran out of energy and needed to cool down at that point. I also trimmed some bushes. Later on I went back out and worked on the back porch and sidewalk areas and weeded there and trimmed bushes back there. I also cut a dead bush back there. I guess we'll have to plant another. Hubby worked really hard with the hedge trimmer to get the front bushes even with the front porch. Here was our conversation:

Me: Ok, these bushes need to be even with the porch.

Hubby: Why?

Me: Because that is they way they were when we moved in.

Hubby: So why do they need to be even with the porch?

Me: Because it looks nice that way. If the bushes end up being higher than the porch then it would look stupid. (lol)

Hubby: But what if I'm hurting the bushes?

Me: I don't think you will hurt them cutting them lower, but if you do then its not mean to be and we'll have to buy smaller bushes.

So for the next hour he fought with the little hedge trimmers that he has and I guess finally got it trimmed. I meant to go out front and look. I could have have hugged him for doing this just to please me. Normally we have not needed heavy duty hedge trimmers. I could tell these did not want to work well.

Anyway we had a great day. I downloaded more graphics and worked on my emails and got them down to 100 something. Yay! I took a break mid day and watched Tori and Dean on On Demand. I have one more episode to watch too.

Hubby G and TheTeen and Flipper Friend were going to go watch the fireworks at Providence tonight but we have had storms and massive heavy rain bands move through. I think it is cancelled. I hear fireworks now. Tugie does not like them and wants to be at my feet or in my arms. So I'm going to go to sooth her. Hubby is back and also wants to watch Six Feet Under. I'm going for some decaf coffee so I can fake my body into thinking it's caffeine.

Nite Nite

Loved seeing pics of the Teen and Friend Flipper. She is such a lovely girl, the friendship will last a lifetime. Hope you did not trim the bushes at the wrong time. They are in full growth. You usually trim when the sap is down so it does not damage. That is usually in the late fall so the sap does not drain out of the shrubs.
