TheTeen and Flipper friend got to check out the trampoline. I have kept our child from having one of these b/c I kept hearing that these were famous for sending kids to the emergency room. However, TheTeen has asked again for one. Now that she is almost 17 and wanting it to learn to do jumps...I'm considering it. They are not too expensive and she is responsible. What do you think? I would absolutely get one with the protective sides you see here. I told her it would be more like Christmas. lol
She really needs it now though so she can practice jumps for the football season. We'll have to see.
Below is another shot of the sunset...
TheTeen made brownie stars, topped with homemade icing that she looked up a recipe for and then 4th of july sprinkles on top. Sorry I didn't get the final product but I was proud of her for whipping up the homemade icing. She is right at home in the kitchen.
Here was my pasta salad. Easy. Just bow tie pasta and red, orange, and yellow bell peppers, real bacon bits, and then I had just bought a bottle of some kind of Parmesan Greek dressing for a short cut, but you could easily make your own dressing with olive oil and a special vinegar (preferably balsamic vinegar) + seasonings. Then top with real Parmesan cheese.
Here is the other half of Steve and Sheri's house. The A frame you see there is their "normal kitchen". The folks on the back porch toward the middle of the pic is the band. The band had Hubby G come up and help sing and it was an AC/DC song. He was really just refurbishing their drinks and they pulled him on stage and made him sing.
Here is the pool. I didn't go in. Too many peoples. lol
See their outside kitchen and fireplace in the picture below. Is that not cool or what? I told Hubby G that I wanted one. ha. Yeah we have to refurbish the kitchen we have much less build an outside kitchen. But that would be sooooo cool as much as we are outdoors. I'd love a pool and outdoor kitchen. I was thinking of asking Steve and Sheri if we could just move in and sleep in the garage! lol. Can you imagine coming home and looking out the lake every evening, cooking while looking out on the water, taking a swim, reading by the water. Oh, and I would most certainly have my very own jet ski. Just to tour down the lake and back. I would not jump many waves just go riding! Well, fun to dream. I love my own house. It is our dream house. Yep, would love to have a pool, but won't push it. lol.
Just a few side notes on the above pic. Johnny is in the blue...he is always the one that grills at our Titans Tailgate parties and he took on his role here grilling hot dogs for us. Herb is the one beside him with the pretty hair. Herb is known for his hair! He is the nicest man despite the long hair style (lol). He is such a down to earth type and he has been the most congratulatory of all the people I've talked to about finishing my MBA. I had told him the last party I did not come to b/c I was studying and that now I can come to these things more often since I finished. He went on and on about how HUGE that was to have that degree. I was surprised that his words were more than just the usual pleasantry but heartfelt. He was very encouraging at what this degree should mean to me. That was really nice to have someone give me a big boost of confidence and assurance. I needed that. Herb actually does what Hubby G does at the main guitar plant. Hubby is at the custom shop. They are both in purchasing and touch base often. We see all these folks at tail gating parties, at Steve and Sheri's events, and while visiting wherever Jack is playing in his band, and so forth. So I'm getting to know these folks better along with their lovely wives who are fun to talk to.See the fireplace? Oh so cool. Can't you see a fall night with friends sitting around the fire.
Up close shot of the band. This guy singing has an awesome voice. He does such a good job. He sounds just like the original artist in everything he plays. Jack is on the right.
Here is only one of many food tables. This was mainly dessert and fruit.
I thought this pie was so pretty...had to get a pic. Oh hey look. I just noticed that TheTeen's iced brownie stars are right behind it. Cool.
This was awfully pretty too so it got it's own photo. lol
Sheri is on the left here. And her daughter Meagan. Meagan has learned to sing with the band so they always let her do a Beatles song and she sang for us on this occasion as well. The guy behind her knew how to play guitar so he accompanied her for Sweet Home Alabama. And you will also see one of the other food tables. ha. I was so full I could not even try that black eyed pea salad. I'd forgotten about that. I've not fixed mine in a while. I have my own version.
Ok, see the big opening? That was just windows earlier and a door. Somehow that all slides open and makes a big opening onto the patio. Cool! I loved the light fixtures you see hanging there.
Steve has come to love guitars. He is the plater for the parts that Hubby gets plated for the guitar company he works for. That is originally how we met. Hubby and Steve did business first and they hit it off so we've been friends with them for a long time...since even before TheTeen was born. So Steve has taken a liking to the guitars. And he collects them. He doesn't play them much but he loves music and so he collects them.
And Buddy had himself a time....he enjoyed all the crumbs and kept making rounds. I had a time chasing him trying to get his photo, but I cut him off coming thru the dessert table. ha.
Here is Granda (Hubby's Dad) and TheTeen.
Here is me being squashed by TheTeen and Whitney sitting in my lap.
Another sunset view..........
Some folks from our party were swimming in the lake. They said it was shallow there. They were having a good time. I like pool water though, not lake water to swim in.
The girls with their feet in the water.
This is a fixture at their dock area.
You can see it again below.
And this concludes the photos from our 4th weekend....
TheTeen spent the night with Flipper Friend at Flipper Friend's MamMaws. They just don't get enough time together do they? lol
Hubby and I got up this morning and went to church. Then we came home for a few minutes and took the dog out and then headed to Sam's Wholesale. We got BBQ for next Saturday's party, as well as stocked up on a few other things. Not a bad drive. About like driving to work. Only about 25 minutes.
Once we got back, I worked in the house some, vacuuming, dusting, doing laundry. Then headed out back to the sidewalk where I needed to a bit more weeding. I still have to do the cherub garden though. It was much too muggy and hot today so I didn't get that done. I worked in the finished basement some getting things spruced up down there too.
Hubby G is grilling steaks for us tonight along with grilling some squash, tomatoes and peppers.
TheTeen is home. She wanted to eat steak with us tonight. She just tried on her cheerleading outfit and shouting about how big it is. Drama!!!! She leaves for cheerleading camp on Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. so she is gathering things together.
Everyone have a nice nite. Tugie needs to go out I think. She's trying to get my attention.

Wow, what a beautiful place. I love the outdoor kitchen with the amazing fireplace. That would be wonderful in the Fall. Thanks for sharing your photos. I would have loved to see G. singing with the band.
My girls had a trampoline when they were younger...they enjoyed it and we never had any problems. I wouldn't mind having one now but our yard slopes in back. Thanks for sharing the pics, wonderful scenery and I loved the fireplace. The food looked good too. Take care, Sheila
your friends have a nice place. The brownies stars looks great. Where did you get those at? Like mother like daughter in the kitchen. Good lesson too.Glad you guys had a good time. Have a great week.:) Nancy
Your friends house is beautiful. I would love an outdoor kitchen and fireplace.
We got our daughter a trampoline about 5 years ago when she was 10 and we never had an accident. Her and all her friends still use it and they love it. I would get one for the teen. I think it will be great for her jumps.
Have a wonderful week.
Looks like you all had a terrific holiday.

It looks like you all had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful place and is great for having all those people in. Plenty of room there. I'm back to work and trying to smile this morning!

Enjoyed all the 4th of July pics. I used to have a cat named Tugie, lol.
What a beautiful house Sonya, I would love to own a place like that. Oh well, I can dream...lol! The food all looks very tasty, I really would have liked to sample some of it. I think the trampoline will be fine for your daughter as she`s grown up now and a sensible girl as you say.
